Southern Winds

Marbella, Spain

The transformation of the common areas in this urban development in Sierra Blanca has completely changed the concept of green spaces. The designed ecological naturalistic garden promotes biodiversity and requires minimal water. It combines resilient flora such as sages with grasses, succulents, and fleshy plants, maintaining chromatic and floral interest throughout the twelve months of the year.  Colour, scents, and textures welcome visitors to the complex, with the simplicity of the vegetation naturally blending into the surroundings.

The wellbeing experienced through contact with plants is one of the benefits gained by renaturalising a plot that was previously covered by white pebbles with almost no green coverage.
